Welcome Message From Mrs. Hoffman!
Hello parents! My name is Jenny Hoffman. I am a student at UC. I will be student teaching in your child’s classroom this year. I have had experience working with preschoolers and kindergarteners previously through the UC education program. I will be in Miss Van Eman’s classroom from the first day of school until March 18, 2011. Miss Van Eman will be mentoring me throughout this time, and will also be in the classroom. Your children are fortunate to have such a wonderful teacher this coming year! I am looking forward to working with your children in second grade.
A little about myself: I am married and a mother of two girls, ages 9 and 11. Our girls attend Monroe Elementary, part of the New Richmond school district. Our youngest, Lindsey, is in 4th grade this year while our oldest, Kaylin, is in 6th grade. As a family, we love to go camping, biking, swimming, play in the yard and attend the girls’ sports events. They both play soccer and softball. Prior to going back to school, I was a child care provider for six years while my children were small. I loved every minute of it, but decided it was time to begin my career doing something I loved while having more benefits.
I am looking forward to meeting all the students and their families at the open house on Thursday, September 2nd. See you there!

The Dragon is DONE. :)
Mr. Dover completed his dragon in 6 hours. Take a look at how he started the dragon and how it looked when it was finished. This is his last project before heading home on Sunday.

Fun in the Sun!
Hello Second Graders,
Did you check your mailbox? I think you will be the only second graders who received a welcome letter from FLORIDA! :) Today on the beach I ran into a nice husband and wife who create sand art. Take a look at the animals Mr. Dover from North Carolina made in the sand. Tomorrow he will try to make a dragon. Check back!

Yesterday was my first day inside our new home. I was able to get all the boxes unpacked but as you can see I still have a lot of work to do. I'm so excited to meet all of you and can't wait for you to see your new classroom. Check back often to see how the room is coming along. If you have any suggestions for the room leave me a comment! :)

A New Building A New Grade!
Hello Parents and Students,
I am VERY excited to make the move to 2nd grade. When I started my teaching career at the "old AE" two years ago, I had the privilege to teach an amazing group of students. This year I am going to be fortunate enough to have a few of my little ones back.
It was a joy to see them walk the halls and grow bigger and bigger in first grade. Now I am excited that I will get to see them grow and learn first hand. I can only imagine how much they have learned from our wonderful 1st grade teachers.
As much as I wish I could of had all 41 of them back again I think it would have made for a rather large class. I look forward to teaching those of you who were not in my kindergarten class.
I can't wait to meet all of my students in September. If you have me as your teacher (lists will be posted sometime in August) make sure you check your home mailbox for a letter from me. I look forward to forming strong and lasting relationships with my old and new students this year in 2nd grade. The last week of school I had a chance to tour the new building and it is AMAZING, FABULOUS, BEAUTIFUL, and will be a perfect place to teach and learn.
Below are photos of our new 2nd grade home!!! Enjoy.
